Sam Malin is the Chief Executive Officer of Madagascar Oil, a company formed for the major project of developing onshore oil reserves on the island of Madagascar. Sam introduced the project and with partners set up Madagascar Oil. His expertise covers management as well as financial, economic, technical and strategic analysis of oil & gas projects, markets and players. After graduating in Applied Geophysics from Queen’s University, Canada Sam joined Dome Petroleum (now part of BP Canada) as a geophysicist. He later undertook post graduate studies at CambridgeUniversity in England before joining the London office of international consultants Arthur D. Little where he worked on oil and gas project economics and supported production sharing negotiations. Since then, Sam has been responsible for short term oil price forecasts at Standard and Poor’s DRI and has carried out a variety of activities in the oil and gas industry, including advisory and analytical roles under a number of EU programmes. Sam was a founding member of Consensia Limited prior to taking up his present position.
